volunteers for Harbor wildwatch

Do you love exploring the water’s edge at low tide and observing the life forms?
Do you want to better understand and teach others how to protect these fragile creatures?
Do you want to meet others who share your interest in protecting the shores of Puget Sound?

Then you are a prime candidate for Harbor WildWatch’s "Get Your Feet Wet" Program!

Every summer our Get Your Feet Wet volunteers are specially trained to work with skilled naturalists to present interpretive programs at the beaches of Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula. No experience is necessary. You will learn and help others to become better stewards of Puget Sound in the process. We ask that you commit to participating in at least 4 low tide beach programs over the summer. During these sessions you will help set up canopies and display materials, monitor touch tanks, haul water where necessary (as you are able), and help the naturalists to engage beachgoers in conversations about the sea life in our tanks and protection of Sound inhabitants.

Our motto is: LEARN. HAVE FUN. That is what our beach program is all about!

Harbor WildWatch is also looking for volunteers who have experience in public relations/marketing, presentation skills, finance, grant-writing, and fundraising.
