Lindsey Stover
Executive Director
Beginning as an educator at a Nature Center in South Florida, Lindsey has fifteen years of experience in environmental education. Since 2011, she has led Harbor WildWatch in the areas of strategic planning and execution, fund development, and providing inspirational leadership to the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers. During this time, Lindsey secured the organization’s first public office space through a unique partnership with the City of Gig Harbor and grew the budget by 300%. She serves the community through various Boards and committees including the KGI Watershed Council (Past Chair); Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce (Past Chair); DWA Walking Tour Committee (Chair), Downtown Waterfront Alliance (Board Member), Lodging & Tax Advisory Committee (Member), and Donkey Creek Chum Festival (Chair).
Rachel Easton
Education Director
Rachel’s career in environmental education began as an education specialist at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium where she enjoyed leading youth and adult education programs with live animals. She has been a member of the Harbor WildWatch team for over a decade, working her way from Lead Naturalist to Program Coordinator to Education Director. In her current role, Rachel is responsible for developing, coordinating, evaluating, and delivering environmental education curricula to youth and the general public, as well as training and evaluating new staff, interns and volunteers. As a biologist, she also assists the organization in reaching our goal of delivering 600 education programs to over 35,000 people in the community.
Stena Troyer
Science Director
Stena’s career in environmental education began as an educator with Harbor WildWatch in 2013. In this role, she delivered classroom and field STEM workshops for students in Pierce and Kitsap Counties, and led guided walking tours at the beaches, estuaries, and wetlands. Because of her research experience ranging from geoduck larvae to sea otters, she was tasked with developing a community science program that monitored biodiversity in the KGI Watershed. Today, she serves as our Science Director and has created numerous ways for individuals of the public to collect meaningful science data in the areas of salmon, rockfish, water quality, and intertidal invertebrates. This work has contributed to important revelations, including listing the Sunflower Sea Star on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. As a member of the program team, Stena also delivers classroom and field workshops to students, adults, and families living and visiting the South Puget Sound.
Liz Racine
Operations Manager
Liz’s career in environmental education began as an education specialist at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium where she enjoyed leading youth and adult education programs with live animals. She joined in 2024 as our Operations Coordinator, and has since expanded her role. Liz coordinates facility maintenance and animal husbandry at our Marine Life Center, creates and distributes newsletters and media, and recruits and manages volunteer docents. Using her background in Marine Biology, Liz also delivers programs to the public and youth such as Salish Sea Storytime, Feeding Frenzy, and Science Saturday.
Robby Nowlan
Administrator
Robby’s career in environmental education began as a youth volunteer at the Sacramento Zoo, where his passion for inspiring conservation truly blossomed as he started his path into working at multiple zoos and aquariums across the nation. He is the newest member of the Harbor WildWatch team, starting in 2026 as our Administrator! Robby keeps the back end of everything running smoothly, inputting data, processing requests, and keeping our calendars up to date. Using his background in aggregating scientific data and navigating zoological databases, keeping everything organized is a breeze! You’ll most frequently hear him if you’re calling with a question, or emailing us. Please join us in welcoming Robby to the team!
Natalie Miranda
Naturalist
Natalie is a sophomore at Pierce College working on her Associate of Science and transferring in the winter to UW Seattle to major in marine biology. Originally from Texas, Natalie moved to Washington five years ago and quickly fell in love with the beaches, tidepools, and marine life of the Pacific Northwest. She is a first time intern with Harbor WildWatch at the beginning of her journey working in the field she enjoys learning and growing through hands on involvement in environmental education. Natalie enjoys connecting people to the ocean through science communication, and she hopes to inspire curiosity and care for marine ecosystems in others. She enjoys sharing fun facts about sea creatures, and encouraging visitors to explore the intertidal zone. Natalie is particularly fascinated by tidepool species, especially moon snails. Outside of school and work Natalie enjoys reading, watching marine life documentaries, and spending time by the water. She is excited to continue learning, gaining field experience, and working toward a future career in marine conservation and outreach.

Howard Svigals
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Howard Svigals, Harbor WildWatch’s beloved Vice President. Howard began his service to Harbor WildWatch in 2012 alongside his cherished wife, Liz. Together, they generously gave their time, talents, and hearts to support and grow our mission. Over the past 13 years, Howard served on the Board of Directors in many key roles—including Treasurer, Vice President, and President—guiding the organization with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. We will deeply miss Howard’s wise counsel, quick wit, and warm humor. His love for Harbor WildWatch was unwavering, and we love and miss him dearly.
Howard and Liz’s legacy lives on in so many meaningful ways—tangibly, through their significant financial contribution to support the upcoming updates to our Wildside book, and intangibly, in every ocean meme that makes us laugh and reminds us of Howard’s joyful spirit.
