Fox Island Sand Spit Low Tide Walk

Get to know the unique animals that inhabit the intertidal zone with biologists and volunteer naturalists! Our low tide beach walks are FREE* and suitable for all ages. Each beach walk will last approximately 60-90 minutes and includes a lesson on beach etiquette. No two beach walks are the same; we never know what amazing animals we will find!

Park in designated spots only, in the lot above the beach.  Do not park along the road or private property.  Meet on the lawn, just inside the gate. Look for Harbor WildWatch staff and volunteers wearing blue. If you arrive late, find us on the beach!

Accessibility: steep hills down to the beach.  Strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs may struggle on steps down to get onto to the beach.  Sand flats, rocky cobble, and gravel.  Some mud to the right of the beach that we will avoid.

Please dress for the weather. Boots or footwear that can get wet is recommended. Flip Flops or other open toed footwear is not recommended for safety reasons.

* Donations are appreciated. Harbor WildWatch is a 501(c)3 organization.
