Cocktails & Fishtales – Marine Mammal Rehab in the PNW and How You Can Make a Difference

What are We Gonna do About This?: Marine Mammal Rehab in the PNW and How You Can Make a Difference with Patrick Hutchins, Community Engagement Coordinator at SR³ – Sealife Response Rehabilitation and Research
With the growth of the human population around the Salish Sea, more people are noticing marine mammals utilizing the shoreline. But is that good or bad? How do you tell if an animal is in trouble, and who do you contact if they need help? Come discover the answers to all these questions and more with the marine wildlife rehab center, SR3, at Cocktails & Fishtales with Harbor WildWatch. These events are an engaging and interactive way to learn about the environment, and bring together eco-enthusiasts from our local community. We are excited to be meeting in person at Ocean5 for this exciting presentation!
Patrick Hutchins has been sharing cool ocean facts with others since childhood, but started doing it professionally in 2010. Since then he’s helped people discover the Salish Sea from the shore, aboard ships, and once even on a plane. He’s incredibly excited to explore the interdisciplinary story of this incredible place with you, and to talk about how humans are the solution to all our environmental challenges.
For those attending in person, the doors open at 5:30pm and the presentation will begin at 6pm. Please purchase your beverages in the Cocktails & Fishtales event space rather than at the bar so we can reach our drink minimum. If you’re planning on dinner, food must be consumed in the restaurant, so plan to eat either ahead of the event or after the presentation.
For those who can’t make it in person, we will plan to stream this in person presentation to the Harbor WildWatch Facebook page. To access Facebook Live events, simply search Harbor WildWatch on Facebook at the scheduled time (6pm for the presentation) to find the live feed on our page. The videos will always post in full once the live stream ends, so feel free to catch up with any content you miss by scrolling through our facebook page. These videos will also get posted to youtube. All times are posted as PST.
